Avatar fanart done for a contest
Really love the avatar bestiary (even though I wanted to see more in the third movie ) So this contest was the perfect opportunity to try my take on it, I imagined a really large herbivore able to cross the huge pandora's desert by using some sort of solar panel on its back
Obviously inspired by the art of the Avatar's movies and games, I hope you will like it :)

The sunwalker continue it's long journey
The creature opens it's dorsal frill to transform the energy of the scorching sun into fuel
Powering its tireless engine
That allows it to walk without stopping, eating or drinking for two month

really rough sketch to imagine pandora desert (I wanted some sort of rock I could duplicate easily)
didn't like my first zbrush sketch so I sketched back in 2d
First sketch: the initial idea was to create a large herbivore capable of crossing the desert using solar energy, a kind of walking solar panel.
